Wills
Check you have the draft version and final version of your Will from Jones Whyte. If they do not have this, then they will likely use ‘First Scottish’ (a searching company for solicitors among others) to track it down and forward it to you. There should be no fee for this. Check if there are any unexpected beneficiaries detailed within the will.
Appointed Executors
Check your Will for Executor names. Many clients find that their Will appointed a McClure partner or one of the McClure Trust companies as an Executor. These company names have been acquired and renamed by Jones Whyte.
You must take action to remove and replace them as Executors.

In some circumstances it may be more beneficial and cheaper to have a new Will written. Wills are relatively inexpensive to replace, a new Will, supersedes any previous ones made, making them obsolete.
